You can now import graphics or layouts from Microsoft Word, Excel, Visio, and AutoCAD LT as Markup Assist’s Markup Import objects. Just open a text file with markup from a favorite application, import that file as a Markup Import object, and then paste it into the Markup panel in AutoCAD. (video: 1:35 min.)Markup Import objects are shortcuts for importing graphics or layouts into your drawings. Each has a name that represents what type of graphic it is.For example, when you import a Visio diagram, the object is a Visio Dashboard.When you import a text or Excel table as a Markup Import object, the object is a Table.When you import a Word document as a Markup Import object, the object is a Word Document.You can also import a Microsoft Access database, Access table, or a report as a Markup Import object.When you import graphics or layouts from Word, Excel, or Visio, the graphics and layouts are formatted to match AutoCAD’s Text Formatting.NOTE: To preserve the import object as a Text Format object, you need to choose “Text” from the Format Type menu. The Text formatting type converts all text to a standard Text font and appearance.You can change the appearance of the imported graphic to match any style, font, or color by using the Format command in the Graphics panel.When you import a Microsoft Access database, you can choose to make all tables and queries text or graphics in the database.
